There is a new family living acrossed the street from us and the little boy, Gibb is a 2nd grader. On Wednesday, we waited for the bus with Gibb and his sister. Gibb says "Well, Parker, are you going to get on the bus today like a man? Or are you going to cry?" Barry and I both kinda chuckled because it was maybe just the right amount of teasing and peer pressure that Parker needs to buck-up and get on the bus without clinging. ...I had to ask myself if I would have felt the same if my child was a girl?
But, Gibb said these words in front of Barry and I, instead of teasing Parker once they were on the bus, so I don't believe he meant any malice. Someday, Parker, you'll be able to get on the bus without fussing!
